Ramadan… It is a month of worship when the doors of heaven are opened, the doors of hell are closed, and the winds of mercy blow thanks to Quran. This blessed month, which is eagerly awaited by Muslims, takes its importance from the fact that the Quran was sent down in this month.

Allah has promised Jannah for the believers, but everyone would have to pay for their deeds before entering paradise. However, Allah is forgiver and merciful. He likes to give and bless his people. Allah has given Muslims a genuine medium of achieving easy success i.e. Ramadan and Quran. But it’s up to you how you spend Ramadan.

There is a rain of mercy, forgiveness, blessings, reward and virtues for Muslims in this month from Quran and Hadith:

Allah (SWT) says:

“The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Quran; a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the criterion (of right and wrong)”. (Surah Baqarah)

Prophet (PBUH) says:

“Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

Why Is Ramadan Called The Month Of The Quran?

Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan at “Night of Power” which is famously known as Lailat Al-Qadr.  The night that is better than thousand months.

“Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn”. (Chapter 97, verses 1-5)

It was the night that turned the history of the world and initiated a new era of guidance. The holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad in Ramadan, the Angel Gabriel brought the first five verses of Surah Alaq, chapter 96 to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the cave of Hira.

“Recite in the name of your Lord who created. Created man from a clinging substance. Recite, and your Lord is the Most Generous -Who taught by the pen. Taught man that which he knew not”. (Chapter 96, verses 1-5)
