Importance Of Allahumma Barik
1- Sunnah Of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has guided the followers to supplicate blessings for the brother whenever we observe any impressing or good thing in him.
It is the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) to supplicate Allahumma Barik on certain occasions. This not only helps the Muslim earn great rewards but also protects the brother from evil eyes.
2- Angel says Ameen to your supplication
Whenever you supplicate Allahumma Barik (May Allah bless you) for your brother, an angel says Ameen.
According to the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), whenever a Muslim prays for his brother, an angel says Ameen to the Dua for the praying person. This means both the person praying and the other one for which prayer is made will be blessed.
3- Exchange and promote goodwill
Allahumma Barik is a great term for exchanging the love between two brothers. It shows that we are happy for our brother and pray for him to get more blessings from Allah SWT.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Everyone of my Ummah will enter Jannah, except for those who refuse”. He was asked: “Who will refuse?” He (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever obeys me, shall enter Jannah, and whosoever disobeys me, refuses to (enter Jannah)”.

Allahumma Barik’s Importance In The Light Of Hadith
There are various Hadiths that prescribe the use of Allahumma Barik including congratulating a newlywed couple.
It was narrated from `Aqil bin Abu Talib:
That he married a woman from Banu Jusham, and they said: “May you live in harmony and have many sons.” He said: “Do not say that, rather say what the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Allahumma barik lahum wa barik `alaihim (O Allah, bless them and bestow blessings upon them).’ ”

Allahumma Barik Supplications
Allahumma Barik comes in various supplications and durood. Its presence in durood ( the supplication for the prophet peace be upon him and his Ummah) shows the significance of using it in daily life. Some of the supplications having the term Allahumma Barik are mentioned below
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
“Whoever is given food by Allah, let him say: Allahumma barik lana fihi wa arzuqna khairan minhu (O Allah, bless it for us and provide us with something better than it). And whoever is given milk to drink by Allah, let him say: Allahumma barik lana fihi wa zidna minhu (O Allah, bless it for us and give us more of it). For I do not know of any food or drink that suffices, apart from milk.”
Sunan Ibn Majah 3322
اَللّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِى رَجَبَ وَ شَعْبَانَ وَ بَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَان
Allahumma barik lana fi Rajab wa Sha’ban wa ballighna Ramadan.
“O Allah, bless us in Rajab and Sha‘baan, and let us reach Ramadan.”
اَللّٰھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰٓی اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا صَلَّیْتَ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَعَلٰٓی اٰلِ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْدٌ اَللّٰھُمَّ بَارِکْ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰٓی اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا بَارَکْتَ عَلٰٓی اِبْرَاھِیْمَ وَعَلٰٓی اٰلِ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْدٌ
O Allah, let Your Blessings come upon Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the family of Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), as you have blessed Ibrahim and his family. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as you have blessed Ibrahim and his family. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
It is sunnah to say Allahumma Barik. Learn and follow the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as his way is the only way to attain success in the world and hereafter.
We do claim that we immensely love the messenger (PBUH) of Allah SWT. But we don’t show it by our actions and merely make claims to do so.
Sunnah is not to be read or learned only. They should be immensely loved and practiced to pay full respect.
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
“The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to me: ‘O my son! If you are capable of (waking up in) the morning and (ending) the evening, while there is nothing of deception in your heart for anything, then do so.’ Then he said to me: ‘O my son! That is from my Sunnah. Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has loved me. And whoever loved me, he shall be with me in Paradise.'”
