In Islam, Rizq means all the blessings that Allah provides—money, food, work, health, and more. It is not just cash or income. Some people may have less money but more barakah, while others may have plenty but still feel empty. Rizq comes only from Allah, and He gives it in different ways to different people. That’s why Muslims are taught to make dua regularly for halal rizq and ask Allah to bless their earnings with barakah.

There are many duas taught in the Quran and Hadith that help increase wealth. One powerful dua is: “Allahumma akthir mali wa waladi, wa barik li fima a’taytani.” Another is: “Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqir.” These duas show humility and trust in Allah’s plan. We’ll explore these and more in detail today.

8 Duas for Increasing Wealth

Here are some prayers everyone must remember and recite daily to increase in wealth.

Allahumma akthir maali wa waladi, wa baarik li fima a‘taytani
Translation: “O Allah, increase my wealth and children, and bless me in what You have given me.”

This dua was made by the Prophet (ﷺ) for one of his companions. It shows that asking Allah for more wealth and barakah is a Sunnah practice. It’s perfect for those who want not only more income but also blessings in whatever they already have. You can recite this after obligatory prayers or while making personal dua. It reflects gratitude, intention, and submission to Allah’s power.

Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqir
Translation: “My Lord, truly I am in need of whatever good You send down to me.” (Surah Al-Qasas 28:24)

This is the dua of Prophet Musa (AS) when he was alone, homeless, and jobless. It’s a heartfelt prayer for help, rizq, and general goodness. You can recite this during hard times or when you’re in need of a job, money, or stability. It shows that wealth is not just cash but all forms of khayr (goodness). Say it sincerely after Tahajjud or in sujood.

Was’alu Allaha min fadlihi
Translation: “And ask Allah of His bounty.” (Surah An-Nisa 4:32)

This short but powerful phrase is directly from the Quran. It tells believers not to be jealous of others but to ask Allah directly. It’s best to recite this often, especially when you feel like others are progressing but you are not. Keep it in your heart while working, saving, or seeking opportunities. It invites halal earnings and removes jealousy from the heart.

Allahummakfinee bihalaalika ‘an haraamika, wa aghninee bifadhlika ‘amman siwaak
Translation: “O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful, and keep me away from what You have made unlawful. Enrich me with Your grace, not depending on anyone besides You.”

This dua helps avoid haram income and asks Allah to make halal rizq enough. It’s deeply meaningful for those trying to stay away from riba, gambling, or dishonest earnings. Say it every day before going to work or starting a business. It strengthens faith and helps purify income.

Allahumma arzuqni rizqan halalan tayyiban mubaarakan fihi
Translation: “O Allah, provide me halal, pure, and blessed sustenance.”

This is one of the most commonly recited duas by Muslims seeking halal income. It’s clear and to the point. Recite it while cooking, earning, or before any business decision. It reflects a Muslim’s desire for clean money that brings peace, not stress. It’s great for daily use and helps develop taqwa in earnings.

Allahumma la mani‘a lima a‘tayta, wa la mu‘tiya lima mana‘ta, wa la yanfa‘u dhal-jaddi minka al-jadd
Translation: “O Allah, none can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold. The wealth of the rich will not help them against You.”

This dua reminds us that only Allah controls rizq. Wealth cannot come from effort alone—it must be decreed. Recite this to strengthen reliance on Allah, especially when feeling helpless or unsuccessful. It’s a Sunnah dua often read after prayer and keeps you humble during your financial journey.

Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, subhanallahil ‘azeem
Translation: “Glory be to Allah and all praise is for Him; glory be to Allah, the Greatest.”

Though not a direct dua for rizq, this dhikr is highly rewarded. Hadiths mention that frequent tasbeeh brings blessings, forgiveness, and barakah. Say this 100 times in the morning and evening. It’s light on the tongue but heavy in reward, often opening the door to increased rizq through barakah and peace of mind.

Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan
Translation: “O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good (pure) provision, and accepted deeds.”

This dua is powerful because it links rizq with knowledge and action. It teaches that wealth must come with responsibility and understanding. It’s ideal for students, professionals, and business people. Recite this every morning after Fajr. It puts your day in the right direction and aligns your efforts with barakah.

Which Surah is for Wealth Increase?

Surah Al-Waqi’ah is famously known as “The Surah of Wealth.” The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“Whoever recites Surah Al-Waqi’ah every night will never face poverty.”
— (Ibn Asakir, Shu’ab al-Iman)

Surah Al-Waqi’ah (Chapter 56) explains how Allah distributes rizq and honors people based on their deeds. It reminds us that true wealth is not just money, but blessings. Reciting it after Isha or before sleep is a common Sunnah among scholars. Many Muslims believe it brings barakah in income, protection from financial stress, and trust in Allah’s control over wealth.

Can Dua Increase Rizq?

Yes, dua can increase rizq. The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Nothing turns back the Decree except supplication, and nothing increases the life-span except righteousness” — (Tirmidhi 2139)

Rizq (sustenance) is part of our qadar (divine decree), but sincere dua has the power to invite Allah’s mercy. The Prophet ﷺ often made dua for barakah in food, money, and family. Dua connects the heart to Allah, and when done with firm belief, Allah opens doors from unexpected places (Surah At-Talaq 65:2-3). Dua also reflects humility and reliance. It’s encouraged to raise hands, begin with praise, and ask Allah using His beautiful names—especially for halal wealth.

Which Name of Allah to Recite for Wealth?

To seek wealth, Muslims are encouraged to recite three beautiful names of Allah:

  • Ar-Razzaq (ٱلرَّزَّاق)The Provider:
Allah alone provides every form of sustenance. Repeating this name reminds us that all rizq comes from Him. Recite it 100 times after Fajr to increase provision.
  • Al-Ghaniyy (ٱلْغَنِيُّ)The Self-Sufficient One:
Allah has no need, but He fulfills the needs of all creation. This name teaches us to rely on Allah, not people. It brings contentment and abundance.
  • Al-Mughni (ٱلْمُغْنِي)The Enricher:
This name means the One who enriches hearts and wealth. Reciting it brings financial ease and emotional satisfaction. It’s best used during dua after prayers.

Final Words

Wealth and rizq are from Allah alone, and seeking them through dua is not just allowed but encouraged in Islam. With sincere hearts and regular recitation of the powerful duas mentioned, believers can invite barakah, stability, and an increase in their sustenance. It’s not about how much you earn, but how blessed your earnings are.
